Tonight I was wondering what Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did once they were threatened with the furnace but prior to being thrown in. I would think they would be fretting, praying, fasting. No, when confronted they said, “Our God can rescue us from the furnace and from you, King.”
Pow!
And again I notice a trend.
-fire killed men escorting them
-furnace turned up 7x more than normal
-He walked with them therein
-fire had no effect on their bodies
-not a hair of their heads was singed
-their robes were unaffected
-there was no smell of fire on them. (Daniel 3:27)
Look how thoroughly He saved them!
Just like the many ways He makes us unique, so it is here.
He not only walked with them in the furnace. He protected even their clothes.
Overkill, over-the-top, ad nauseum?
Maybe, but how then do I often miss it?
