I love listening to sermons on podcast. A friend told me about podcasts a few years ago. It is unbelievable the access we have to truth and the Word of God with all of our advanced technology these days. It’s continually at our fingertips. But what’s sad is that we so often take it for granted.
I know I sure do.
I have so many Bibles on my bookshelves that I have collected through the years. Some people in the world don’t even have a Bible or have access to get one. Yet, how many days have I left my Bible unopened and collecting dust on the bookshelf? How often do I choose to read, watch, and listen to the “garbage” of this world rather than soak in the life giving truth of God’s Word?
Anyway, today I thought I would share a few podcasts that I enjoy listening to. Not everyone is an auditory learner like me, so that’s totally cool! God made us all different and unique, exactly how we should be. But if you are an auditory learner, you might enjoy listening to podcasts throughout the day. I like to listen to them when I am getting ready for school in the morning, riding in the car, cleaning my house, exercising, or doing other various projects.
Warning: Listening to sermons on podcasts can be addicting. Yes, sometimes it’s background noise, but it’s still TRUTH! And more sinks in than you realize.
Now if I could just get more of that “truth” to come out by actually applying it to my life!!!!
My favorite podcasts are:
Rick Warren “Saddleback Church” and “Daily Hope”
Stephen Furtick “Elevation Church”
David Platt “Radical Together”
Robby Gallaty “Long Hollow Baptist Church”
Craig Groeschel “Life Church”
Andy Stanley “North Point Community Church”
Christine Caine “Coffee With Chris”
I would to hear your ideas of how you soak up God’s Word. Please share any other podcasts or pastors that you love to listen to.
I have attached a great sermon by Craig Groeschel, the senior pastor at Life Church, that I listened to that really convicted me. It’s called “The Hard Right: The Time in Now, Part 1.” Pastor Craig teaches on Haggai 1:3-9.
One of the points he made in his sermon was, “God wants us to choose the hard right instead of the easy wrong.”
Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.”
This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord. “You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?” declares the Lord Almighty. “Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house. Haggai 1:3-9
