I’m mad!
For the past few weeks I’ve been caught up in a spiritual battle with fear. I’ve been getting kicked around by Satan. Thus far I’ve been completely ineffective, lying in the fetal position, wallowing in defeat.
Not anymore. Now I’m mad. I’m ready to fight back.
In John 6, many disciples turned back from following Jesus. Life got hard. The going got tough. Many found out that following Jesus wasn’t all cupcakes and roses. Then Jesus turned and looked at his 12 disciples who were still standing there with him. He asked them, “Are you also going to leave?”
I just love how Simon Peter responded. He answered, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6:67-69
I’m at a crossroads in this battle between fear and faith. I don’t know what’s ahead. Wish I did. I don’t know what’s in store. But this I do know. I know WHO! I know too much of Him! I’ve followed Him too long to turn back now! I know His realness! I’ve seen His miracles! I’ve experienced His touch–His vast boundless love! I know Him and have tasted His goodness, His life giving water, His words of eternal life.
“To whom shall we go?”
To HIM! We run back to Him! We cling to Him! We stand with Him!
Like me, maybe you’ve been pitched some curve balls lately. If so, now is the time to remind Satan where we stand and WHO we stand with! Because friends, we aren’t going ANYWHERE! And when life gets tough, may it only push us closer to His side!
So often we want to know the WHAT! And He wants us to know the WHO!
Rest in Him today and His mighty power!! When Satan whispers, “What if?” in your mind, you remind him WHO!
Peter said it best–
“We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
