For Love

“Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!” Philippians 2:6-8

Without the cross the cradle has no significance. Jesus knew his purpose before He left heaven. To die for us. God became one of us. So in everything we face, He can relate. We can’t say, “Lord, You don’t understand!” He does understand! He’s been there! He was one of us.

But why?

Why would God leave the splendor of heaven to come live in the poverty of Earth? Why come as a helpless baby instead of a majestic king? Why wear swaddling cloths instead of royal robes? Why a manger and not a throne? Why a cross and not a crown?

One word.

Love.

He did it for love.

And He thinks you were totally worth it!
