Put Him First

This weekend a friend sent this verse to me.
Matthew 6:33 – “…. and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.”
She said, “The Lord promises all we need only on a daily basis; this includes time, too! Let’s ask Him daily to help us prioritize the Kingdom first!”
I have been so overwhelmed lately with work that I have neglected time with the Lord and my family.
So this weekend I decided to take a break. I spent some much needed time with my family.

Then on Sunday I had a huge stack of papers that I hadn’t started grading yet, but instead of grading them, I spent time with the Lord.

I confessed that I had been barely squeezing Him in instead of putting Him first. I asked Him to help me do a better job at putting Him first every day. I asked Him to please somehow multiply my time so that I could accomplish all the tasks that I needed to get done.
Then today at school the teacher who co-teaches with me grabbed a stack of tests on my desk and graded them for me. I didn’t ask her to, and she had no idea how behind I was on grading. What a gift!

On my way to training this afternoon, I got all my other papers graded. That never happens!

How sweet of the Lord to answer my prayer. He is so real and personal. He truly multiplied my time today!
It makes me wonder how many blessings I miss out on because I don’t put Him first.

Let’s put Him first today! We won’t regret it! 🙂
