Don’t Let Your Love Grow Cold

By Kelley Darnell
“Therefore, Gods chosen ones, holy and loved, put on a heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, accepting one another and forgiving one another. If anyone has a complaint against another. Just as The Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive. Above all put on love – the perfect bond of unity. And let the peace of the Messiah, to which you were called in one body, control your hearts. Be thankful.” Colossians 3:12-15

“Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of remnant of His possessions? He does not retain his anger forever, because He delights in unchanging love.” Micah 7:18

“Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.” Matthew 24:12
I don’t know about you, but I do not want my love to grow cold! Do you?

With false teaching and loose morals come a particularly destructive disease – the loss of true love for God and others.

Sin cools your love for God and others by turning your focus on yourself. You cannot truly love if you think only of yourself.

Isn’t this the world we live in?! Have you cooled your love for The Lord or for others? Am I only focusing on myself? These are questions that I ask myself. So then I can’t help but think of the opposite. When my focus is on God, then my love is growing strong! Yes! But I do fall short. All. The. Time. But I have to remember to repent, return to the father. Become completely humble on my face before The Lord and He loves me and forgives me. If I don’t, my love will grow cold.

“Lord, I pray that we can love You! We can put on love! Everyday for You!  And when we don’t, we fall on our knees and return to You. And through our love for You we can love those around us!
