This week I was listening to a sermon by Craig Groeschel, the lead pastor of Life Church. He shared his “daily declarations” that he says aloud every morning when he gets up. Now, I have to admit, I was a little hesitant about this at first. But as I continued to listen, it really started to make sense. And I believe God’s Word backs it up. Speaking God’s Word out loud each day can be a powerful tool as we fight the battles that rage in our minds.
Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinks within himself, so he is.” And 1 Samuel 30:6 says, “And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.”
David encouraged himself in the Lord.
And we know God’s Word is “alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
What could be more powerful than the Word of God spoken aloud over our lives?
So I’m all in! I used some of Pastor Groeschel’s declarations, adapted them, and then added my own. I also made a list of daily declarations to say aloud over Callie, my daughter. I remember Priscilla Shirer sharing in a Bible study that she does this over her boys each day.
Feel free to use them and adapt as needed if you want to. 🙂
Daily Personal Declarations
Jesus is first in my life.
I exist to serve and glorify Him.
I choose to obey God and His Word.
I depend on TRUTH and not my feelings and emotions.
I wake up with purpose, direction, and meaning every day of my life.
I will love the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.
I respect and love my husband.
I joyfully submit to his leadership.
My daughter will love God and serve Him with all of her heart.
I will nurture, equip, and train, and empower her to advance His kingdom.
I love people and believe the best about others.
I will value others above myself.
I am disciplined.
I will do my best today.
I will seek to fulfill the role God has given to me–not someone else’s.
I am competent–not in my own abilities–but because He has made me competent.
Christ in me is stronger than the wrong desires in me.
I do no look down on my weaknesses. I rejoice in them and use them as opportunities for God to display His powerful strength in me.
I will abide in Christ and let Him abide in me so I will bear much fruit.
I have the mind of Christ therefore I act in a way that is consistent with His actions.
I choose to grow closer to Jesus every day.
Because of Christ, my faith is deeper and my family is closer.
I am anointed, empowered, equipped, and have every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus.
I am called to make disciples.
I will not love this world or the things in the world. I will love God.
I am content with who I am and what I have.
I will seek to store up treasures in heaven-not on earth.
I will live each day in light of eternity.
I will be a God-pleaser not a people-pleaser.
My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, therefore, I will honor God with my body.
I am blessed beyond measure because the Holy Spirit dwells within me.
My words, my thoughts, and my imaginations are under the power of Christ.
I will take all my thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ.
I will guard my heart with all diligence, for out of it flows all the issues of life.
There is purpose in pain.
I rejoice in suffering because Christ suffered for me.
I do not fight against flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness.
No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
I will NOT use my tongue to speak critically or tear others down.
I will say only those things that are good for building others up according to their needs.
I will be slow to speak, quick to listen, slow to get angry, and quick to forgive.
I will rejoice and be glad because this is the day that the Lord has made.
I will trust in the Lord with all my heart and not lean to my own understanding.
I will not worry, but will put my faith in God.
My God is always with me.
My God will never leave me.
My God is always faithful.
My God will never let me down.
Nothing can separate me from His love.
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
I believe that my God will make a way.
My God always comes through.
Greater is He who is in me than he who is of the world.
God is on the throne.
The Lord is in my midst. He is mighty to save. He delights in me, and sings over me with joy.

Rachel. I am praying that the Lord will place you in the ministry. I’ve been praying this for sometime for you.. I know that He knows this is totally where your heart is and he can make this happen. Pray with me that if it is His will that he would do it. I feel very strongly that this is your calling. I love you my precious daughter and want your desires to be fulfilled for His glory in this matter. Love, Mom
