The Word Became Flesh

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

‭‭John‬ ‭1:14‬

We have a God who looked and saw us in our mess, our hurt, our pain. He could have chosen to be indifferent and leave us as we were. But He didn’t. He didn’t just give us a solution. He became the solution. He didn’t just send something good—He sent His best! His one and only Son. God became human. The sacrifices in the Old Testament couldn’t fulfill once and for all. But He could. And He did.

All for us! All for love!

Max Lucado writes, “Christianity, by contrast, celebrates God’s great descent. His nature does not trap him in heaven, but it leads him to earth. In God’s great gospel, he not only sends, he becomes; he not only talks to us, he lives with us as one of us.”

As the hustle and bustle abounds, may we focus in on Him this Christmas. May we have eyes to see His glory, His beautiful breathtaking glory, full of grace and truth.

O come let us adore Him!
